Bali is an Indonesian island province in the Lesser Sunda Islands, known for volcanic peaks, rice terraces and Hindu temples.
Bali lies between Java and Lombok, with its provincial capital at Denpasar and a spine of volcanoes that includes Mount Agung and Mount Batur. Unlike most of Indonesia it is predominantly Hindu, and temple ceremonies shape daily life. Visitors head to Ubud for art, dance and the Tegallalang rice terraces, to the sea temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, and to the southern surf beaches.
